If You Use Sound in Email Marketing, Make Sure it Rocks

Many people don't like the idea of web or email advertising taking over their computer's speakers. But sound is such an effective medium that you probably shouldn't ignore it altogether, but you shouldn't waste it with poor audio either.

Sounds, and music have a huge impact on people's moods. If you combine flashing email marketing with powerful sound, the effect will be unbeatable. But no audio is a lot better than bad audio.

And if you decide to use sound,

  • make sure it's easy to turn it off or
  • even default to off and let the user turn audio on if desired.
