Definition: Bacn is desired email not from a personal contact.
At the same time, bacn is not spam or unwanted email, but typically still email sent in bulk or in an automated fashion.
Example Bacn Emails
Examples of bacn include newsletters, notifications about replies to blog posts or forum comments you have written, alerts from social networking sites and desired email advertisements.
Bacn typically requires no (immediate) action. It is a good idea to have your email program or service filter bacn to a folder (or two) where you can deal with it once a day (and once per week).
The Term "Bacn"
The term "bacn" was coined in reference to Monty Python's Spam skit, which has already served us "spam". While spam is in all dishes (but one), bacon — shortened and differentiated into "bacn" — will be on your plate only if you choose it.
