How to Prevent IncrediMail from Checking Mail When You Launch It

IncrediMail, attractive though it may be, can appear — for some, at least — to suffer from a certain amount of who knows what kind of complex: it copies your email settings from Outlook Express (including passwords) launches itself as soon as Windows starts and then starts downloading all the mail, too.

Fortunately, IncrediMail's maybe overreaching defaults can be changed.

Prevent IncrediMail from Checking Mail When You Launch It

To tell IncrediMail not to check for new mail the moment you launch it:

• Select Tools | Options... from the menu in IncrediMail.
• Go to the General tab.
• Make sure Check for new mail when opening IncrediMail is not checked.
• Click OK.
