How to Change the Default Font for Composing Mail in IncrediMail

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

Most letters you can use as message background in IncrediMail specify a font, too — often appropriate and attractive, but sometimes not.

Maybe you prefer to always use your favorite font (something special like Distortia, a highly legible font, or possibly your handwriting), though.

If you don't want to rely on either letter designers or IncrediMail to choose a font smartly, you can make your favorite font the default, used in precedence over all other fonts. (Of course, you can always use a different font and formatting for individual emails or select parts of text.)

Change the Default Font for Composing Mail in IncrediMail

To make IncrediMail always use your favorite font when you are composing a message:

  • Select Tools | Options... from the menu in IncrediMail.
  • Go to the Message tab.
  • Click My Favorite Font....
  • Highlight the desired font under Font:.
  • Specify the font size under Size:
  • Make sure Always use my favorite font when composing a new message is checked.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK again.

Specify Your Font Only as a Favorite, Not as Default

If you leave Always use my favorite font when composing a new message unchecked, IncrediMail will not override the font chosen by the letter used to compose a message. You can easily choose to use your favorite font, though, by selecting Use my favorite font from the font drop-down menu before you start writing the message text.
