Guide Review - Death2Spam - Spam Filtering Service

It is the modern email user's dream: you turn on a spam filter and thereby turn junk mail off. Typically a pipe dream, this scenario finds its nearest approximation in Death2Spam. If the clumsy name deters you, do not let it.

Death2Spam is an amazing service. All it takes is a small configuration change in your email client, and Death2Spam starts eliminating just about all junk mail — seamlessly and with very little maintenance.

Death2Spam uses pseudo-Bayesian statistics to achieve an amazing accuracy with its spam (and virus) filtering. That Death2Spam is not tailored to individual users but uses a common classification database for all does not seem to hamper the precision a bit while Death2Spam spares you the initial training typically required by statistics-based filters.

Death2Spam adapts to the specifics of your mail in a subtle and smart way, though. If Death2Spam makes a mistake or is unsure about a message, you can submit it for training and correction by forwarding it (as an attachment) or via the web site, which lists all recently received messages in good, spam, unsure and virus mailboxes.

Unfortunately, you cannot search the web interface for a specific message. As perfect as Death2Spam's MX record approach works, a service to filter individual accounts would be nice.
